2016 was a whirlwind of new experiences, one of which was my decision to launch a line of hand-painted, hand-dyed silk scarves, under the label, victoriab:design. I have long wanted to try my hand at owning my own business, so I took a leap. Wow. What an incredibly challenging, rewarding journey. I finally launched my Etsy shop, and then right at the start of the holiday shopping season, I was invited to participate in the Park Slope Windsor Terrace Artists Open Studio Tour. I was terrified. I had never done anything like this before. Where to start? I put my fears aside, and swung into action. It was a terrific experience. I love this new job I created for myself. I still have a lot to learn. I am trying to make friends with being a beginner. If I can realize a dream like this, you can do. One step at a time.
